Senior CTE Expo

The CTE Expo was an event so that we could practice our communication and interviewing towards others. At first, we thought that it was about the 9th Graders being introduced to the academies and learning what's about, that wasn't the main priority. There were many things going on in the classroom but there was a lack of approach and bravery towards the 9th graders. Also, it seemed as if they were more interested in the computers containing digital graphics rather than physical projects such as a poster board based on typography.    In addition, there were a few students that didn't care about the event and isolated themselves from others. There were certain situations that went well such as the attempts to explain what is Web Design about and why they should join. Also, we all dressed professionally in business clothes such as suits, polo shirts, and button shirts. Furthermore, this unites the whole Web Design team since the 9th and 11th grader...

Work Based Learning 4

                     In this workshop we tried to discover our career passion by completing a brief worksheet. A lot of the stuff we do on a daily basis could tell us what we are really like. When we were kids and tried to solved puzzles that could tell us that we are problem solvers and if we  looked at instructions or played cops and robbers you probably like to analyze and investigate. These characteristics can help us identify what traits we have and what makes each of us special. I was categorized as RPS which meant Realistic, Problem solver, and Social although it doesn't fully explain what truly unique about someone it does tell us a good starting base.

             As Web Designers, we have always had to use critical thinking to solve certain problems. Using Critical thinking helps solve an issue much easier and with more thought yields a better product. There is more than one way to solve issues and that's what we call problem-solving. As a web designer who codes most of the time.               In this power, a skill we learn about is synopsis. This course is definitely preparing us for future employment/job market. We are often being interviewed by school teachers as a practice so that in the real interviews we can do good at it. We are being thought how to solve the problem and work with other in a difficult situation. Creativity is also needed as employers will see you higher as a person. networking is also needed as it will give you a job if you know people. It's not about how much you know but who you know. Professionalism is also a trait that is needed. It's not only being on time to work but wearing proper job/work attire for that job. It's about arriving their early and knowing what to do without being asked.

I read an article about a week ago and in the article one of the questions was why do people go to college and the majority answered because of networking with other people. Networking helps you connect with people  It isn't usually what you know about a company but who knows you in the company. Having networks and people near you will give you a better chance of landing a job. It is much easier if your looking for a job online and you go to the specific place and have an interview with that employer. Job searching is important as your skills and experience. You could benefit from someone if you get to know them just a little bit. This gives you the upper hand in many cases when you are searching for a job.
